Chris, it was a great meeting -- typical East Nashville. Lots of people sharing great ideas about improving our community.

I did hear several people bring up the issue of improvements related to the sports fields. There seems to be strong support for youth and adult baseball, and for softball, all of which now exist in the park but most of which needs attention. But I also heard support for a field that would be useful for football or soccer, and open play spaces.

You are also not the only one with music ideas!! I'll add some more info later about other ideas I heard. It's all just brainstorming right now, but Parks was there in force and listening.

Thanks to all who are involved in this very worthwhile project. I was not able to attend the meeting, but I would love to throw out that I always thought it was odd that Shelby Park has something like 9 baseball diamonds, but 0 soccer fields. Wouldn't it be great to see our kids play soccer at Shelby Park? Also this being music city and all, might an amphitheater be a good thing?

Thanks again.
