Multi-purpose Paved Greenway

10+ miles of greenway

Shelby Park is home to more than 10 miles of paved multi-use trails. These trails are primarily flat and 10+ feet wide. They provide access for walkers, runners, and cyclists.

Primitive Trails

6.6 miles of primitive trails

Shelby Bottoms offers quiet and beautiful primitive, non-paved trails throughout the 950 acres of natural area. These special trails offer a glimpse at life in the bottomland of Tennessee.

Cumberland River Access

Shelby Park is bordered by 4.5 miles of the Cumberland River.

The Shelby boat ramp is located on the eastern edge of Shelby Park before the train trestle. The ramp provides access to the Cumberland River at mile marker 193.

Several outfitters provide kayaks and other boats for rent or tours.

Trail Rules

  • Maximum speed on trail is 15 mph

  • Keep to the right; pass on the left

  • Keep pets on-leash not exceeding 6 ft.

  • Bicyclists and skaters yield to pedestrians

  • Give an audible signal when passing

  • Stay on designated trails

  • Put trash in receptacles at trailheads

  • Open daily from dawn to dusk

  • No motorized vehicles

  • Leave valuables at home

  • Take car keys with you

  • Trails and bridges may be slippery or uneven

  • Trails are subject to flash flooding; exit the greenway immediately during heavy rains
